Don't know if this would be useful or not to any beginners here, but I just wrote a tutorial on creating vents (for fans/general heat dissipation) in electronic project cases.
See, I'm kind of a cheap guy, and I buy those cheap Radio Shack project cases that don't have vents or holes (for getting rid of heat), so I came up with this quick technique to create my own. Also works with metal (except the pin vise part-just switch to a power drill instead).
