How can I make a A.C. signal noisy.

We can use a mixer circuit, but I would like to know what kind of circuits, etc.

I'm trying to simulate an noisy environment in a lab environment.

Added after 40 seconds:

The signal is 120 VAC

A simple choice

A florasent tube light starter in series
