Flicker noise

Hi all

Has anyone experience with microwave-semiconductor flicker noise?
How can it be lowered? Has anyone values for the noise density of the following components?
- BAT15 (schottky diode Infineon)
- HSMS-8xxx (schottky diode Agilent)
- NE3210S01 (GaAs FET CEL/NEC)

Thanks!

Re: Flicker noise

I have ask a question about flicker noise b4. and flatulent gave some explaination and how to reduce it. you may seach flicker + 1/f . I dont know how to post that link here, sorry.

Here is the previous discussion. **broken link removed**

Re: Flicker noise

Uups, I searched long time with google but forgot looking in older elektroda discussions ... sorry.
But again: I did not find a value for the flicker noise in a datasheet. Can it be calculated from other parameters? Are there 'experience values' for devices?

Thanks

If you searched whit Google, pheraphs you found tons of data about 1/f and or flicker noise.
At present knowing "1/f" don't follow any mathematical law so cannot be predicted.
"1/f" is a generallized name of a complex phenomena and the describing law is 1/(f^n), n increase as the freq. tend to 0 Hz.
Pratical tips:
at freq as low as 1 Hz or less, the major cause of 1/f is the enviroment drift. check the supply voltage, the temperature should be thermostated etc.
Don't hope to find info on all data sheets. But few components are advised as "low 1/f noise" . On data sheets look also for the combiantion of "Audio" and "Ultra low noise".
Good Luck
