How to intuitively identify poles and zeros in a complex RC circuit?

How to intuitively identify poles and zeros in a complex RC circuit? without any derivations..

In general, capacitors in series with the signal path will produce zeroes at DC. Capacitors in shunt with the signal will produce higher frequency poles.

I have one related question: How do we transfer these poles/zeros in frequency domain to time domain waveform? What kinds of stuff we'll see in time domain with different combination of poles/zeros?

To transfer from frequency domain to time domain we need a inverse laplace transform.
if the pole is on the right side of s-plane,then it will produce an increasing exponential term in the time domain which leads to the unstability of the system.

it seem that the author has a good mehtod to deduce transfer function of a complex network.

You can read the first 5 chapters for free from Google Print (using multiple accounts). Thats all the necessary theory for this method. The following chapters are mostly applications, so not completely essential.

I managed to save chapters 1-5 this way. But it would be good if someone could find the full ebook.
I would post what I have, but I'm on a slow connection that tends to timeout in the middle of uploads, but its not hard for anyone to do what I did (takes time though).
