cygwin

hi,

i want to access our lab server from home, so i was told to install cygwin and openssh and xorg

i installed cygwin but it gives me errors
and the tar files of openssh don't open
and i can't find a straight forward installation for xorg

i'm in a mess and i don't know what to doooooo
this is the first time for me to do this and it's already bugging me so much
i'm using windows xp

anyone help please
can someone explain the steps and how to get everything together

thanks alot :)

cygwin

if all you want is to connect to lab server , you an just install exceed or xmanager... this will give you a xterm with shell on lab server. Any application you launch will execute on labserver, but display will be be on your home pc..

You need cygwin only if you intend to run gnu based programs locally on your home pc.

Re: cygwin

i asked him for directions and he told me get cygwin, openssh and xorg
