antenna.s1p

hi all,if i want to insert s par. file of antenna at the input port instead 50 ohm,in order to simulate antenna plus amplifier in rx mode, how i put this file and what is its format

Re: s par.port in ads2003?

Save the antenna file as “antenna.s1p” and insert in your design.

WHAT IS THE FORMAT IN TEX FILE

Re: s par.port in ads2003?

The common used format to exchange s-par between intruments and simulator is TOUCHSTONE. ADS of course uses this format.
You can easily find on the web nformations on touchstone.
Hope it can help

Re: s par.port in ads2003?

hi,all,my certain prbolem is i want to simulate antenna integrated with
amplifier in ads,i have idea that if i have antenna s par. file
in touchstone,i may simulate i,is that right i put antenna s parameter
file in s1p extension format, that in rx mode,at the port 1 instead of
50 ohm port ,problem is if i put module of s1 in input port and upload
it with touchstone file, then simulate, the simulator says error message,
where is port 1.question (how i put antenna file at the port 1) to simulate that
antenna integrated with amplifier, port 2 at 50 ohm already
regards

Re: s par.port in ads2003?

You have to specify the input termination as a complex load.
Edit your termination (port nr 1), and enter for Z, the complex impedance of your antenna at one frequency (beware the format is 1+j*0). You can run the simulation just for a few in-band frequency points.
If I remember well is a possibility to load entire s-file changing “Parameter Entry Mode” to “File Based”.
