access usb port matlab

how can i import data from an A/D converter kit connected to the usb port of a pc using matlab?

i don't know how to interface the USB but In Matlab7 it is possible to access only serial ports i.e. COM1, COM2, COM3
The help file of the Matlab 7 has details of the overall control process
