Linux USB Controllers

I was wondering if anyone had implemented a USB to Serial bridge using linux. I have been looking at the TUSB3410 by TI, and the AN2131 by Cypress. I found more resources for the AN2131, but it I can't find any simple firmware for a USB<->RS232 bridge. I know the TI chip can do it, but I haven't found any firmware for the TI chip.
Also, any example source on programming?

Thank you.
