How to implement 2D DCT and verify code for it?

hello everyone,
i'm new to edaboard and i want to implement 2D DCT..i've gone through couple of posts in the forum and i got a vague idea..most of them say that take the image as input in matlab and compute the coefficients..

cant i write the code only in C and what would be my test vectors for that..how do i verify the code..

can i use code composer studio for this implementation..

any replies would be great help to me..

try this link from mentor. Its a video tutorial on jpeg compression. Especifically how to write the 2D DCT in C.

thnks for the reply..can i write my code in C/C++ for 2D DCT and verify it with test vectors..can u tell me how can we write a test vector inorder to verify my program for 2D DCT..
