Hi,

Can anyone identify this component? Please see attached images of a PCB.

The PCB came from our vacuum cleaner. The vacuum cleaner is 14 years old and, sadly, broke down recently.

Also, just so you know, we're new to PCBs, but mechanically proficient.

Thank you in advance for your help in this matter.

Hi,

It shows "87°C" .
--> An overtemperature switch?

I would concur with Klaus, it is an over-temperature cut out. They usually reset again after the temperature has dropped so if you have a test meter, see if there is any continuity across its pins. If it seems to be almost a short circuit the fault is somewhere else.

Brian.
