Hi

I am using 16.5 and I have a multipart symbol I created for an FPGA. I found a type in the symbol and I edited it according to a note I found that said to

find the symbol in the library
right click on it
select "split part"
this brought up spreadsheet
I edited and saved (if I repeat above the changes are there)

but when I go beck to the schematic the part does not display the changes

I have tried selecting the "library cache" and then selecting "cleanup cache" but that does not help

it seems the schematic is not getting refreshed....

anybody know what to do ??????

I don't know Orcad - but can you simply delete it then add it into the design again?

EDIT: By the way - have you done any searches for this information?

Simple Google searches show the following:
https://www.edaboard.com/threads/198948/

OR - what does the help file tell you?

I have done some searching, but perhaps my criteria was a bit too restrictive. So, I didn't find anything worth while. I tried to look at the Cadence docs as well, maybe it's there but I didn't find it. To be truthfull, google does a better job of finding things in Cadence's docs than Cadence does. What you found is no cigar, but closer than anything I found so far. So, thanks.

The part is part of a multipart package, so deleting it may require deleting them all. The parts have many pins, so it seems there has to be a better way. But I may create a backup project and give that a try. There is an way to disconnect all wires simultaneously, so maybe it won't be to bad.

there are two way:
1.delete the componet
2.cleanup cache
3.replace the componet
or
if you don't want replace location of the componet,
1.edit the library
2.select the componet in library cache,right click,replace.
