EMI problem

My GSM mobile phone failed at Radiation Emisssion Test , it is failed at 2nd harmonics when swept from 1G to 6G . How can i resolve it ? Its shielding is OK.

Re: EMI problem

Radiated Emission Test? Were you measuring harmonics level of the GSM phone transmitter? Or harmonics level of the receiver's local oscillator?

You must be more specific in order to help you.

EMI problem

Yes , RE is Radiated Emission , We are to scan the hamonics level of GSM transmitter.

Re: EMI problem

If this is the case, improved shielding will give no effect. Harmonics (overtones) from the GSM transmitter is caused by nonlinearities in the RF power amplifier (PA). A lowpass filter, located at the output of the PA would help.

Re: EMI problem

A filter located at the ouput is a good choice, but it will lower the output power.

Re: EMI problem

It is always better to solve the problem, not the effect.
