How to enable cross-selection (highlighting) between schematic and layout (virtuoso)?

Greetings all,
Could someone please help me with the following issue?

I have a cell that contains a schematic and layout view. The layout was generated from schematic window : Launch->Layout XL->Create new...

The problem is when I select a component from layout, like this

This component should also be highlighted in the schematic window, but it doesn't. No element is highlighted at all. Does the schematic/layout cross-selection option need to be enabled manually?
