It's pain to find the required library in eagle CAD so I want to make my own library from existing library Eagle 9.3

I would like to add something simple e.g an capacitor . There are many existing library available for capacitor in eagle library I am trying to make new library from the

I am following this link https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/eagle-forum/edit-and-save-library/td-p/7312931
control panel > File > New > Library

In the table of contents view at the bottom of each of the 4 columns

I get four buttons new device/footprint/3Dpackage/Symbol.

I can't seem to figure out how to open a part, edit it and save it as a new part

What am I missing here? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi,

the recommendation is to use an existing library, copy it, then edit it.

But from your description you try to generate a new library from the scratch.

Hi,

if it doesn´t work the way you try then
* either copy the library in WINDOWS.
* or OPEN the library then SAVE AS xxx.lbr
