Hi guys,

I want to isolate two voltage supplies that I have in spice, I mean I do not want to connect their negative side together( In experiment, easily I do not connect) but what about in spice? I want to use one of the voltage supplies as a floating volatage supply.

any idea will be appreciated,

Thanks,
Ela

Did you ever try? It works without problems, you possibly need to connect a high ohmic resistance (> GOhm) because SPICE doesn't like zero conductance in circuit equations.

An E source (voltage controlled voltage source) allows you to isolate voltages. As pointed out by FvM though, you cannot have anything truly floating so you may have to add a very large resistor between the two parts.

Hi, Thanks for your answers,
I have another question, I have a digital pulse generated by a DAQ and want to change it to floating source...I thought about optocoupler(just diode and transitor) but I couldn't succeed in driving...the datasheet has no info....do have any help for me?

Thanks,
Ela
