I have a transformer which has a damaged primary wire that I wish to disassemble and rebuild.
I wish to do it without destroying the transformer completely. What I have found out so far is, most people break the core in the process, so I'm looking for a good safe way to dismantle the transformer that doesn't break or damage any of the parts.
I managed to disassemble the transformer by placing the transformer into a pot of boiling water and boiling for 15minutes. After this the core seperated from the glue and bobbin with no issues, after this I was able to unwind all the windings while taking count of the turns and tape layers.
