How to design RF Chains?

Hi,
i want to design RF tranciever chaines, lets say at 3.5Ghz.
where can i find some kind of practic "to do list" ,concerning, all the considerations and the formulas (maybe with assistance of exell sheet),
without all the heavy theoretical books ?
(How to calculate overall P1db chain,P3db,NoiseFigure,and all the related
calculation for a good RF chain design ?
thanks,
bull

Good explanations you can find at www.agilent.com site.

Re: How to design RF Chains?

Hi. There nice programs around the www to do receiver system design such as cascaded NF, Gain, IP3 P1dB calculation.

To start, you can download appcad from Agilent website . It comes with a receiver parameter calculator.

To gain better insight in receiver spec, you can read up the "RF Design Guide " from Artech House. Ebook version available in electroda also.
