rcd snubber

Hi,

could you please help me with a RCD snubber?
I need it to limit the drain spike voltage in a boost converter.

How design? Do you have any AN or doc?

I already read this from unitrode:

Thanks!

snubber rcd

I did calculated for flyback way back. i am attaching my matchcad file, just check in case it helps.

sorry the document was in very non-descriptive. :D as i made it for me , only

unitrode snubber

take a look

snubber boost converter

I don't see a meaningful application of a snubber in a standard boost converter circuit. Also no spike voltage should exist here, because it's directly cut by the output diode. Today's MOSFET have built-in zener protection and can handle voltage spikes without additional circuits.

snubber

Yes, in a standard boost converter circuit, a snubber will have no meaningful application/role. Snubber/Transient Suppressors play vital role in some other Topologies in S.M.P.S.
