How to design an integrated on-chip leapfrog filter

Hi,

Have anyone designed an integrated on chip Leapfrog active Filter before? How do you go about designing? Do you first find the desired transfer function and then sythesize into LC ladder and then into RC-opamp?

Any guideline will be appreciated.
