wrong ldv version

When I install LDV5.1 in redhat 9.0,there is the wrong report :
tar: This does not look like a tar archive
tar: Skipping to next header
tar: Archive contains obsolescent base-64 headers
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors
/tmp/cds/install/bin.lnx86/softload: line 1412:
Could not extract information from FS.0 of CD#1.
Could not get platform or release information: command not found
How can I do? Can LDV5.1 be installled in redhat 9.0?

Check what "tar" tries to extract....

Or try to install latest tar sources and compile them...
remember same issues during c@dence psd 15 install on suse linux 8.2

Re: How to deal with the wrong when installing LDV in redhat

Please check the related post posted before. Some people discussed about it.

I encountered the same problem as this post, even after I had linked "ln -s \bin\gunzip \bin\uncompress". Who can tell me about "vtar" ? I found there is a command "vtar" in sOftlo@d.sh. After I try "whereis vtar" I found nothing about it in RedH@t 9.

from redhat7.2 uncompress is remove ,so we should use gunzip like eins99.
