How to couple AC voltage to voltage power source?

I tried connecting them together but no luck.

Is it impedance mismatching problem or?

The only way of connecting two (or more) voltage sources is to connect them in series .. see attached picture ..
Otherwise, the "stronger" one will try to kill the "weaker" one (Kirhoffs laws) and, mate, .. big-bang ...
