how to control 36V 250W dc motor...what type of gate driver should use?

I don't get you, what do you mean by what type of gate driver?

ouh sorry..i mean.. for example half bridge drive... what is the component specification should i use...is there a ready made driver for this type of motor

do you need to reverse the motor? bring it to a controlled halt with constant torque?

Frank

no need to reverse direction.. just to control the speed with forward direction.. not need for constant torque

The easiest way is to use the motor as the drain load on a switching FET, and put PWM on its gate.

I agree with this post, another point what noting is for you to consider whether you need a driver or not (depending on the frequency of operation).
Read about totem pole and also if the freuency of operation ís low you can just connect a resistor of about 2k ohm between the gate and the source to ensure that the MOSFET is perfectly switched off when neccessary.
