It's possible to connect a printer to fpga to print out datas?

i.e. after a data acquisition, sending everything to a printer instead of displaying on monitor.

I've not done it, but this should be simple compared to driving a monitor.

If you stick to a basic printer, that can be connected to an old DOS-based machine and print from that, should be really simple.

Such a printer can just be sent basic control codes and ASCII codes and it will act/print.

The interface need only be an eight-bit output port and a strobe line, or even just a seven-bit+strobe if you don't need the fancy ascii graphics characters.

Then just write a routine to send the required ascii codes out from your captured data.

I'm a newbie...

I must connect printer directly to development board.

Do you know if someone has created a vhdl interface?
