Hi all,
I want to know How i can check the gprs signal strength(BER) of gprs modem installed for data communication at remote location
And also advice if any equipment is available for this testing.

can BER value ensure proper data communication or any other parameters that to be check.

Ni3.

to ensure proper rate
first is to check signal strength, which is by issuing AT+CSQ command,

it will report BER as 0 even there is no signal...
so ensure signal strenght before checking BER,

there are standard level of strength required for making gprs work fine...

To get BER of remote system there is option to issue AT commands thru SMS,

Please xplore further u make get some lead...

Alternative to AT+CSQ, use AT+CCED=1,8,1. This will automatically send a response when the signal strength or BER changes so you won't need to always request AT+CSQ.
