We have realized that the phase noise will affect the system performance
such as noise floor degradation and reciprocal mixing..etc. But, anybody has the
idea how to calculate it between the phase noise requirement and system performance such as SNR degradation contributed by LO phase noise.

I need a startpoint to do this, any related materials?

Thanks,

Go to Watkin Jonson website and sarch through the application notes / technical articles. I had seen a article on the discussion of phase noise effect on receiver design

www.wj.com

Watkins Johnson has some nice app notes on their web site, but lot's of it is crusty and dates from when 4-QAM was new stuff. To calculate the effect of phase noise on SNR, you have to use the modulation scheme that your system is using (FM/AM, QPSK, QAM, PSK, OFDM, etc) Once you have that, I've been able to find papers that go through the appropriate equations in enough detail so that I can figure things out.
