hai friends,
how i should apply solder metal on required track to increase thickness of track?

hi dani,

i think you are using allegro.so open solder mask layer (Top or Bottom, where you want to apply solder metal )and then add shape in layer (that means solder mask open ) while getting board from fabrication.your trace will be open so you can apply copper in that area.

hi kapil,
just correct my path,
after routing ->option->package geometry->solder (top or bottom)->shapes->rectangle or any->draw it on the routed line.
and some of my lines are just 40mils then how to apply for that?

Hi dani,
in your board particular (power)trace more than 1Amps apply for that or else if you have enough space better use shape for this net.
for my understand please post the board file or snapshot

hi danismith,
better use shape for Line ,neutral, ground earth and keep shape to shape clearance for this 1.6mm is good (to avoid the noise)
use stitching via for Line ,neutral

Re: how to apply solder metal & cu wire on required track?

can you give any constraint manager for this board

hi kapil,
shape in sense solder mask??????????????????????????????

hi danismith,
open constraint manager-->select space constraint-->right click-->create-->spacing cset (name)WR_SPACING add line, neutral, ground earth line to line 63 mil and then give spacing between shape to shape 25mils.
in you design has more then 1 Amps it will applicable.

shape is not soldermask, shape is another way of connecting power that means you can apply shape for power signal .shape will conductive good conductivity compare to signal and it will carry high amps compare to line check this for your reference.

hi kapil,

are you telling about this...

What is ur exact requirement? Why do u want to open the traces?
Is you power levels are more or ?

For 2A u can manage with the trace it self,no need to solder wire again on track..for trace width calculation use online calculators..search in Google u will get lot many...

hi siva mani,
am using only shapes and not extra solder

Ok fine as for initial content it talks about adding extra wire on track

"how i should apply solder metal on required track to increase thickness of track?"

DONT, use the correct weight copper laminate, it is bad practice.
