I just want to simulate a very simple RLC resonator. It is made of copper wire and a capacitor soldered at the both ends of the wire. How can I add the capacitor in HFSS.
I found there is only lumped RLC boundaries in HFSS which can only be added o a surface, and I really don't know how to handle it.
Thanks for your answer in advance.
I have used a lumped RLC boundary for a wilkinson divider (as a resistance) in HFSS 9 and worked very well...
I just selected the upper face of my microstrip metallization and assigned an RLC boundary. The integration line in the definition of the boundary is setting the points at which the ideal RLC will be soldered (if we can say such a thing ...
hi,mogwai.
for divider maybe the way is usalbe.
but in a switch , R or C MODEL in HFSS to equalize the PIN seems difficult . I've tride the way you used in the divider but failed.
maybe you can make a simple test about this ?
your can draw a two dimision sheet. Assign a RlC boundary to it. Just notice that the sheet size should be an "electrical small" structure comparing to your simulation frequency.
