problem with bias cucuit

hi all
i am desinging the folded cascode fully differential cascode opamp with gain boost ..
for which i am using the tail current of 3.5 ma in tail of opamp ( which is cascoded)
so i want to desing the bias circuit for this tail circuit .i am using the cascode current for the bias of this tail ..
so i want to know that how much current i will flow in my bias curcuit so that it will mirror the tail ( 3.5 ma).
if is use the 3.5 ma in my bias it will be well and good but due to this my power diss will increse.so how much i flow the current in bias circuit so that it can mirror the 3.5ma of tail of opamp..
some literature tell that u can flow t the 1/5 of tail current in bias .is it true ..
plz answer..
regards..
manish

problem with bias cucuit

1/10 to 1/5 should be fine.

Re: problem with bias cucuit

hi nixing..
as u told that 1/10 to 1/5 is fine .
plz tell why this ratio will not hamper the mathing ..
of bias current and tail current ..

It's empirical value, for large current like ~ma, 1/10 or slightly larger maybe good tradeoff in performance and power
