How is making somebody invisible possible?

i have heard through some source that scientists are preparing some cloth that will make some one invisible.
i want to know how is it possible. as we are visible due to reflection of light. and it casts shadows too. and i think the process of difraction can do it. but for that there should be a body whose width is comparable to the wave lenght of light waves.
let suppose if i use that clothes then i will be visible or invisible. i want to discuss and elaborate it.

any one will like to discuss it.

If you remember the James Bond movie (Pierce Brosnan) (I forgot which one, probably Die Another Day, where Haly Berry was there), Bond had a car which could turn invisible. The car was claimed to have (although fictitious) cameras all over its outer surface to take the image from different sides and project them on the screen which was also the body of the car.

but that was movie. i have said that in real life is it possible. like by using that cloth can u become invisible to ur bro, sys, boss,.... anyone who is standing nearby should not able to see u.

This depend on the definition of the word. If you mean hidden maybe this is possible but if you mean invisible like the invisible man movie in which the actor is invisible and also transparent (that mean that we can see the things behind him) I thing that this is impossible with the science knowledge that we have now.

Yes the research has been conducted and is very possible to create that kind of cloak. theres a tiny camera at the front and back of the cloak, than an image processor recreate the image and display it to the cloak surface which is made from o-led (organic lead). As we all know, organic LED is a revolutionary display that is much thinner than an LCD

The visibility is possible due to energy exchange between two bodies: the observed subject and your eyes. If it is possible to generate equal, but out-of-phase vector of the same energy flow, your eyes will not see anything what described with initial vector. Such technology already in use for years in some scientific and military applications. It is just a mutter of time when we probably will see it in our everyday life. There are some ethical and legal questions however: now to use these techniques right.
