Hi, Can anyone tell me or show me how to differentiate an SMT parts like :

1. Which is the Resistor, capacitor etc.
2. Since i done see any colour code how do i know the resistor Ohms and also how
do i know the capacitor value.

And any other things regarding SMT.

I usually measure their resistance with a multimeter,

if the resistance are infinite, then it must be a capacitor,

if the resistance are finite, then it must be a resistor.

if the resistor are very small and the package are black,

then i may be a inductor or a small value resistor.

generally, a SMT resistor has value marked on its body,

and a SMT capacitor has no value marked on its body.

a SMT resistor and a SMT capacitor's body color generally

are different.

best regards

Thanks, but another question How do i measure or know the value of the capacitor say in an ordinary capacitor they usually have the faret and voltage value so is there any ways (like different colour) in SMT capacitor.

hope this would help..
