you can implement the ispVM embedded (piece of C code) in de uC and configure through JTAG, alternatively you can implement a SPI protocol, 3th possibility is to use the ispCONFIG port (8bit parallel data) of the EC/ECP. I think these possibilities have been described in the handbook.
