how can i interface ir photodiode with 8051 processor....???

hi i am creating a parking sensor,which uses ir photodiode as reciever/ transmitter and controlled by a micro controller, based on the distance between the rear bumper of a car and obstacle...how can i interface ir photodiode with 8051 processor and will day light affects the ir transmission/reception....????? help me

8051 processor

1) you should modulate the light with a few kHz frequency. and filter it on fotodiode.
2) will the dust kill you sensor sensivity?

thank u for ur reply,the sensor used should be of sun filtered type....can u specify any sun filtered ir photodiode...???
