Honeywell Experion programming help

I am doing programming in a DCS from Honeywell using Experion PKS Release 430
This software has its own Control Execution Environment and Control Builder.

I wish to transfer an analog value (PV) into a numerica. But i want the DCS to do this only at a certain interrupt... lets say... when a certain valve opens then that PV value gets stored into a numerica (thereby replacing the older value each time the valve is opened)
