Hello!

I would like to hear your recommedations and comments about electronics laboratory equipment. I am currently (and in the future) working with an automotive related microcontroller project which includes smt parts (tqfp, 0603 caps etc.). My budget is somewhere between 1000-2000 dollars for following equipment: Oscilloscope, Arbitrary-Waweform-Generator, Digital Analyzer, soldering/de-soldering station, power source and possibly also a microscope. I have made some background research on google with these results:

I would be very interested to hear if anyone has got experience with these devices. Also any other related information about corresponding devices is also most welcome! Especially about chinese equipment, which seems to be priced SO attractive manner that I cannot help myself...

If you're buying this stuff new, expect to reach 2000$ faster
than you think ! Especially if you want a super-waveform
generator...

I highly recommend a soldering station like a Hakko 936 . The tips
are very durable, and you can solder even 0.5mm pitch with the
supplied tip as long as you use liquid flux.

For your de-soldering needs, you just need a heatgun, tweezers/
long-nose pliers, and some practice before you desolder your 50$
IC. It might even work with BGA chips, if you heat the PCB from
the bottom. But I don't recommend soldering BGAs yourself,
unless you also have an X-ray inspection station.

I can't really comment on your other choices, because I have never
used those products.

- A good quality digital meter (ammeter, voltmeter, ohmmeter, etc). Fluke ?

- Maybe a frequency counter / meter

As Osciloscope Use tektronix 400Mhz
As Multimeter an good true Rms from Fluke Or other equal.
