I have been working on a home automation project (still in early stages) and was wondering if anyone has used any pre-built light switches that can be controlled with zigbee or something similar.

I know i could build something that would work, but it might be more expensive then buying a pre-built switch.

I am open to any ideas or interesting ways that you might have done this?

Thanks!!!

There are RF controlled AC power switches on the market. There are USB-controlled DC relay blocks available which you can adopt. Zigbee and other devices have logic outputs that you can couple with power relays to drive lights.

There is Zigbee power plugs, dimmers, door sensors, occupancy sensors, you name it and from many different manufacturers. For a starting point go to www dot zigbee dot org and navigate to (using the links on the left side): Products/By Standard/Zigbee Home Automation and scroll down for a list of Zigbee certified products. Or google "zigbee home automation" and the fourth result is "Zigbee Home Automation Certified Products"
