I am currently searching for a manual soldering and desoldering station.

My main interest is the desoldering process.

The use case is a repair line (actually three lines) with a minimum total production volume per 8 hour shift of 1000 reworked
PCBAs. In each PCBA we replace three through hole components (that takes 6 desoldering steps) which will be somewhat
troublesome if I take into consideration the fact that the collection chamber will fill after a couple tens of PCBAs.

What I have in mind at this point as an already used solution is Metcal MX5200 dual supply rework station
which uses shop air for the desoldering.
Do you have any better proposals especially for the desoldering with maintenance (i.e. changing filters for the desoldering gun)
as low as possible?

Thank you for your answers.

Should I make it a little more fun? :)
Which one is the best desoldering staiton you have ever used and why?
