It is a blue laser of about 1,5W power in Solarforce L2X body.

The laser is very bright, the beam can be seen in full light and the spot dazzles even from a few dozen meters (dispersed). Because of the power, the device can scorch paper, cardboard, matches, tin, etc. The color is beautiful – it is clear, deep blue and not violet as it can be in blu-ray lasers. A phenomenon similar to UV can be seen – all white objects strongle reflect the light.

Diode was made by Nichii and was removed from Casio m140 projector. It consumes the current of 1,5A, which depending on the performance of a copy, on 1,4W to 1,7W of output power. The whole device is placed in a copper module mounted in a heat sink, which fits the body. The whole is powered by a home made driver on stcs2. As the voltage drop across the diode at that current is about 4,6V, extended version of body was chosen. That is why it is powered from two Li-Ion 18650 (the same as in laptop baterries).

Scheme of the driver and drawing of the heat sink can be found in the attachment on the original thread.
