Dear All,

I am using BTA41 triac to operate 115V .75 HP motor. But as I switch on, the triac blows off. please let me know hw I can protect the same as I am alredy using a suitable snubber circuit.

regards

Vicky

Hi vicky.

What snubber are you using?

RC snubber is for filtering voltage spikes, it won't do anything to limit in rush current.
What you need is a suitably sized choke in series of your triac
For example a toroid wound with wire.
