hi every body, i need the meaning of radix

please help me to learn the basics

i searched many books, but i didnot found the meaning of RADIX, since it was given as radix-2 and radix-4

and also i need the meaning of INPUT PRECISION, WHICH IS RELATED WITH radix

To me, RADIX means BASE. So RADIX 2 means binary, RADIX 10 means decimal, RADIX 16 means hexadecimal.

There are other possible uses for the word.
