Hi all,
I am simulating the system and I got stuck due to the RAM overload. My laptop has 16 GB RAM, and HFSS always reach maximum 16GB.
There are some objects whose material is water.
So, could you please tell me how to solve this problem if RAM is limited?
Decrease Meshing Density, HFSS is a RAM killer EM simulator.Don't use abused and unnecessary Higher Frequency Limit because meshing density is correlated with this.
Thanks BigBoss.
I have a box of water_fresh (tick on Solve inside) with the size is 100mm x 400mm x 400mm, working with the frequency 2.45GHz. So could you tell me how to decrease the mesh size? I searched on the Internet but it's so ambiguous.
You can watch how memory is utilized moment to moment and by what processes, by running a program called SysInternals Process Explorer. Available as a free download from the author's website. It has more features than Task Manager.
many answers to this:
1/ if you need to do regularly large model , go for more ram- 16GB - what OS is using is not a lot..
2/ try to reduce the model size with symmetry.
3/ turn on the iterative solver to reduce Ram usage.
4/ if you only model wate as a parasitic effect and only want to be accurate for the antenna itself, you can also turn on "use free space lambda refinement " in the set up..
note also that water permitivity default value may need to be changed to fit to the frequency you are using..
