Hi all,

I'm looking to model a block with changing index of refraction (achieved by changing the relative permeability and/or permittivity) throughout the material. The total index only needs to change along one dimension.

My original thought was to create the block by manually adding many thin "sheets" together to create the block. With each sheet assigned a custom material with the desired permeability and permitivity. This sounds tedious and very inefficient for making rapid changes to how the index changes throughout the material. If anyone has suggestions on how to do this in a more efficient manner, I would be all ears!

Thanks!
