HI.
I dont know if anyone here can help. I have a plasma tv that has stopped working and I am looking for help to find the failed component in order to get it going again. I have taken the back off and tested a few components but not having much luck so am searching the web for someone to help me. Its a Hitachi 42pd5200. Its old but a cracking tv I cant throw it away. Its bound to be a simple fix. It turns on but no picture, then after a few seconds clicks into a standby mode sort of. But the power light still stays green and on.

Thanks if anyone can........

Plasma TV's can be very difficult to fix, however most plasma TV faults tend to be in the power supply due to faulty electrolytic capacitors. Checking and replacing any bulging or leaking electrolytic's in the power supply may cure your problem. Note replacement electrolytic's must be 105c types for a lasting repair.

Thanks. I've never checked a capacitor.
The set Has been off for several days now. Is it likely to still hold charge in them? Can I test it on the board??
