The MOSFETs in my 3 phase inverter bridge are getting hotter than I would like. Would it be a good idea to put capacitors across the drain to source of all 6 mosfets? I think it would help to divert some of the current from the MOSFET internal diode during turn off thereby reducing losses in the MOSFETs. Any thoughts?

Addingt capacitors will increase switching losses, at least for a standard (hard switching) converter.

Thanks FvM for your response. Will it reduce the heat on the MOSFETs though as anti-parallel diode won't be carrying so much current?

How are you driving the gates?
Improperly driving the gate could cause it to be in linear mode for too long.

But without a schematic our blind guesses are just that, and most likely incorrect.
