help (usb connector / firewire connector)

hi,

i need to use the usb connectors or firewire connectors in application that didn't use the usb or firewire protocol is this allowed or what ?

I think you would probably get away with it in a product you sell in small quantitys.

The USB logo is a trademark. The rights holders will not be pleased if you show it on a product that does not meet the USB spec. I think you would get away with seperate cables with the USB logo provided the cable meets the spec for USB cables.
