Hi edaboard, all new here.

I hope you can help me.
I've got this surround system for free, but the dvd player is not working/turning on (it also controls the amplifier.) When I turn it on, this component makes a really annoying sound, so i'm almost certain that there is something wrong with this part. But I can't a replacement part for it. I did try google but with no result. Hope you could help me find this part.

I have a picture of it here:

Any help is appreciated

It's the SMPS transformer and the noise is from slight mechanical movement inside it as the magnetic field around it changes. It's annoying but not uncommon. The fact that is is making a noise is a sign it is working so your problem is somewhere else.

How you conclude that is transformer bad ?

It is not so easy as replacing the part.
Excessive noise or overheating of the transformer can indicate a problem of excessive current. The problem may be at the power supply (the circuit to which the transformer belongs) or over current in another section.
A broken or loose core or the transformer can produce noise and power supply malfunction.
Eventually something may start smoking.
Start troubleshooting by measuring the power supply output voltages and determining if currents are within reasonable ranges.
Check for overheated components.
Take care because HIGH VOLTAGES are present at the SMPS
