Hi

I got some old used Altera EPM7032-LC44-15T CPLD's not the S version

I dont want to spend like $300 for a programmer , and it seems like it has no JTAG. So Jam is out of the question

Is there any , way to program those without buying an expensive programmer ??

I have JTAG for it , and is willing to build some HW (Programmer) , but need software or programming Algo...

Or are those chips just to the "Garbage Can" ??

Cost of S version is very low, also you have the JTAG interface, it seems to be better to put aside a non-S version. At all with my expricecs, it is better for you to switch from Altera to Xilinx. You will find that XC95XL is cheaper and easy to design and robust.
