hi!

i need help to calculate the line utilization with sliding window flow control.
Take this problem, for example:

2. Consider the use of 5,000 bit frames on a 1 Mbps satellite channel which has a propagation delay of 250 ms.
(a) How much time is required to transmit a single frame? [5 ms]
(b) If each frame is explicitly acknowledged by the receiver (i.e., the receiver returns a separate acknowledgment for every frame it receives), what is the maximum link utilization for:
i) Stop and wait ARQ? [0.99%]
ii) Continuous ARQ with a window size of 7? [6.93%]
iii) Continuous ARQ with a window size of 255? [100%]
(c) What range of frame sizes gives a utilization of at least 1/6 with
i) Stop and wait ARQ? [Frame size > 100,000 bits]
ii) Continuous ARQ with a window size of N? [Frame size > 500,000/(6*N 1) bits]

how is it solved?

thx
