[SOLVED] help needed in code modification

hello all
me and my friend working on a digital speeedoemeter which uses LCD to display the content. **broken link removed**
evry thing is ok upto here.
now i want to modify the code such that:-when i power on the circut a WELCOME message will appear on LCD for 2 seconds followed by old data.(distance travelled etc)
My programming skills are very bad.
please help me
