Help me with program that reads what keys were pressed on RC5 remote

i am a second year student so needs basics and small points also to be explained , i have developed an RC5 serial port rcvr using SF5110, thhis is LIRC rcvr and i used a winlirc driver for it to check if its working..............and my rcvr is working currenlty.....now i need it to so develope it that the remote has to control winamp and windows media player so cud u telkl me how do i write the program in vb for it.. wil work as a

wat i mean is i have developed a rcvr (if u need somemore details i can send)..................and now i have to make a program that reads wat keys have been pressed on the RC5 remote then i will link it up to the windows media player..................so I NEED HELP HOW DO READ WAT KEY HAS BEEN PRESSED ON THE REMOTE

At least for Winamp you don't need to write a program. This is a plug-in for Winamp doing that job (in conjunction with WinLIRC): http://winlirc.sourceforge.net/gen_ir-0.4.zip
It only needs to be configured. Tested OK with Winamp 2.x (don't know about higher versions). More infos here: http://winlirc.sourceforge.net/
