Hi

I have decided to build a ballistic system ( Like a small cannon, Mounted on a rotating turret ) as my final year project. Mechanical part is throughly worked out by our team.

We are going to use a stepper to rotate the turrent, therefore controlling the azimuthal angle. Then one stepper controlling cannon's vertical angle. Firing muzzle velocity is kept constant and is invariable.

Now all that remains is the ARM controller. We are using the LPC2140. We will enter the parameters like azimuth angle and the distance of target. Controller will perform calculations, vary vertical angle, and then, fire.

I need help regarding the ARM. I am new to it and really wanna stick to old faithful 8051, which I master. Would the program be complex much? I need help SERIOUSLY!!! Thanks in Advance.
